The Children's Workshop for Kids, Teens, & Parents
- And where are you from?
- Mexico City.
- How old are you?
- I am nine.
I'm here to talk about my feelings and,
like try to get all this stresss that I always keep, that I always keep inside,
just like spill it all out, so I'm not stressed anymore.
It's really, really helpful.
It's so good to have an opportunity to bring children and The Work together.
She didn't want to put the worksheet down to go to bed.
Before I came I didn't really like The Work very much,
because I thought it was kind of boring and a waste of time.
But now it's really fun.
That there are some good thoughts but some things bad happening.
I always thought that actions dictated your thoughts. Then I learned that thoughts dictate your actions.
I learned that I need, I thought that I needed to understand, but I realized that
I don't really need to, and that I could just live with what I already got.
(Byron Katie): The Work is a way to clear the mind.
The Work is four questions and a turnaround.
Anyone with an open mind can do it.
The first question is "Is it true?".
The second question: "Can you absolutely know that it's true?"
The third question: "How do you react when you believe that thought? What happens?"
The fourth question: "Who would you be without that thought?"
And then, I invite these beautiful people, and they're inviting each other,
to find examples of each turnaround, as they turn around the concept they're working on, to opposites.
The Work is a way to question your mind, and anyone open to it can do it.
Judge your neighbor, write it down, ask four questions, turn it around.
I invite everyone to thework.com
At the beginning, when I realized that my facilitator was an eight-year-old,
I thought I wasn't going to profit from this exercize as much.
So I thought that I will help her, but she wasn't going to be able to help me.
And then I realized that everything she thought about her mom,
my kids could have said the same about me, and I was speechless.
And the way that she very simple, she just make the questions to me, helped a lot.
It's like the best facilitator that I had in, you know, in a long time.
