Dear Katie,
Here are some of the pictures I took yesterday at one of the prisons
in Malawi where I do The Work with prisoners.

Unfortunately
I was alone, so I failed to picture myself facilitating these
men. I was at the male section. I had the little books with me,
but the prison authorities refused me to distribute to the prisons.
They said all reading materials for the prisoners need to be accessed
before consumption or given to them. But they informed me after
the session, which was about an hour and half, that the book is
okay, but I should came again as most of the prisoners on Sunday
attend their denominational prayers within the prison, so they
advised me to come again very soon, on a Saturday, so that I can
have a big number of people as the prison has a big number of
prisoners.
I managed to
look into some of the universal beliefs which the prisoners had.
I facilitated them on one-liners like “I will die here in prison,”
“I will never see my wife again,” “My wife will remarry,” and
so on.They
were so happy after they questioned these painful thoughts, and
it was a relief to some of them. Some even shed tears when I facilitated
them on the turnarounds. There were a lot of painful stories which
these people had, and they promised me to have a wonderful time
when I came again.
I will email
more photos when I go back again to the prison, these coming weeks,
and very soon I will start my southern region prison tour. I love
you all and I thank you for the wonderful gifts you are giving
to the people of Malawi and to me.
Love Kondwani
