![]() ![]() Eva WolfGroningen, NetherlandsEnglish, Dutch Here I was, on a sunny beach in my beloved Corfu, re-, re- and re-playing the audio cd’s of Katie’s first book Loving What Is. I had bought them on an impulse and now I just couldn’t stop listening to them. The penny had dropped. It felt as if a lifelong search (“Why? Why all the suffering in the world, the nazi gas chambers, the hunger, why?”) had finally come to an end. Yes, I had found ‘answers’ before, of which i will be forever grateful – in the silence of Zen meditation, in the deep questioning of Krishnamurti, in the compassion and simplicity of Thich Nhat Hanh. And now, here, unexpectedly, i had stumbled upon the final piece, the HOW: how to find the crack in my own darkness, so the light can get in. Not by someone telling me what to believe of what to do. Not by having to follow the next guru. Not by presenting me with a method outside of myself that promises salvation. But by gentle inviting me to really SEE for and by myself what had been in front of me all the time: that it is not life that makes me suffer, but my thoughts about life, when I believe them to be true (when I am attached to them). And then by offering me a peaceful and simple way to question them myself (instead of fighting them, or letting them be questioned by a so called authority) - so the miracle can happen again and again: my thoughts crack open and the light gets in. My life becomes lighter, I become lighter, every time I see another crack in the thoughts I believe in.... I love to live with myself, to play with my grandchildren, to dance and to feel embraced by silence – and I would love to meet you and share this amazing process of The Work, of inquiry with you! After having been a trainer, coach and teacher in the field of social work, for many years now I have had my own practice in psychotherapy (for personal sessions as well as by phone and Skype). And also for more than 20 years now, I have guided open Zen- and Mindfulness-Meditation groups that meet weekly. |
