I Need Something to Eat: Is It True?

July 12 - August 16, 2010
Teleclass

This six-week teleclass is a chance to pause and question our thoughts around food – thoughts like “I want more.” “Something sweet would hit the spot now.” “I’m hungry.” “Only one more bite.”

Katie talks about our painful feelings being the alarm telling us, “Sweetheart, time to do The Work.” The thought of food is often another such alarm, like the ringing of our cell phone, inviting us to answer with Inquiry.

The Work, and this workshop, are not about eating less or eating any differently. But pausing long enough to question some of these deeply entrenched primal thoughts that propel us toward another forkful when we’re not hungry, or toward the refrigerator for the fourth time in a quarter hour, can begin to open the space toward more freedom and lightness.

Each week we will use different exercises, doing The Work with what arises. Weekly homework, journaling, and work with a partner between sessions will allow us to continue and deepen our exploration in relation to food in our day-to-day life.

Class size limited.

About The Presenter:

Zoe N
Zoé Newman lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has been using The Work in her personal life and in her practice for over ten years. As a certified facilitator of the Work of Byron Katie and a psychotherapist, one of her great joys is to share The Work with others.

When Zoé facilitates, her heart opens and I feel the embrace! She is right there with me and then she asks just the right question to take me even deeper into me. What a gift.
– Bobbie Wells

I have found Zoé to be extremely compassionate, patient, insightful, and open. Whether we're dealing with a highly charged "crisis" or simply the stresses of everyday life, Zoé's quiet presence and gentle questions help me to deepen my Work and find my own path to peace.
– Sarah Thompson

Zoé gently offers The Work with insightful humble brilliance and paramount clarity. My own inquiry is enlightened by her consistent articulateness as facilitator.
– Patricia Alessi
